2024 Barbera d'Asti Fiulot, Prunotto

Owned by the Antinori family, Prunotto has been one of Piedmont's benchmark estates for over a century. "Fiulot", meaning "young man" in the local Piedmontese dialect, is a vibrant, youthful expression of Barbera. Fermented and matured entirely in stainless steel, it captures the pure, juicy character that has made Barbera one of Italy's most versatile food wines.

Deep ruby red with vibrant purple hues, the nose is packed with ripe blackberry, blueberry and plum, complemented by a delicate hint of sweet spice. The palate is bright, juicy and wonderfully fresh, with Barbera's naturally lively acidity balancing generous dark berry fruit. Soft tannins and excellent persistence make for an energetic yet beautifully harmonious finish. Delicious with pasta in rich tomato sauces, pizza, grilled sausages or classic Piedmontese cuisine.
