Here, volcanic soils and a unique microclimate of misty autumn mornings encourage noble rot, giving rise to the world-famous Tokaji wines - from vibrant, mineral Furmint to rich, complex sweet Aszú and Essencia. Further south, Villány and Siklós enjoy warmer conditions and varied soils, producing structured, full-bodied reds. Leading estates such as Gere Attila, particularly its flagship Kopar cuvée, highlight the depth and polish now achieved.
