Durantou Family

The Durantou family are responsible for some of the finest wines of Bordeaux's Right Bank, led by the legendary Château L'Eglise Clinet, one of Pomerol's most sought-after estates. Under the late Denis Durantou, the château rose to the very top of Pomerol, earning a reputation for exceptional purity, precision and longevity. Today, his daughters Noémie and Constance continue that legacy with the same meticulous attention to detail.  Beyond L'Eglise Clinet, the family produces a superb range of remarkably good value Right Bank wines, each with its own distinctive character, but sharing the Durantou hallmark of purity, freshness and elegance.

Les Cruzelles (Lalande-de-Pomerol) - The most serious and structured of the four, with impressive concentration, depth and ageing potential. A compelling alternative to considerably more expensive Pomerol.

La Chenade (Lalande-de-Pomerol) - A perennial favourite, offering fragrant fruit, supple tannins and an appealing balance of freshness and richness. Charming and approachable, yet capable of ageing gracefully.

Montlandrie (Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux) - From the elevated slopes of Castillon, a beautifully structured wine with concentrated fruit, fine tannins and a mineral edge. Elegant, refined and built to develop with time.

Saintayme (Saint-Émilion) - A vibrant, fruit-driven Merlot, full of ripe dark fruit and freshness. Generous, approachable and consistently excellent value.

Exceptional quality at remarkably modest prices, these are some of the most rewarding and dependable wines of Bordeaux's Right Bank.
