The fruit for Reserve de Leoville Barton comes from the estates younger vines and plots that just missed selection to the Grand Vin. As a result the quality in top vintages can far exceed the lowly price tag. This utterly charming deuxieme vin has an eye catching art deco label that once adorned the Grand Vin. 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc.
"The 2019 La Réserve de Léoville Barton offers a mixture of red and black fruit, quite perfumed and floral, with crushed violet. The palate is well balanced, very supple, pure and elegant, leading to a delineated finish. This is lovely in an old-school way and will only need a couple of years in bottle. Drink 2023-2033."
