1997 Vin Santo di Carmignano Riserva, Capezzana (Half bottle)
One of Tuscany’s most prestigious Vin Santo wines, made from predominantly Trebbiano wit ha little San Colombano. Aged for at least 5-6 years in small chestnut and cherry wood barrels, it develops an intense amber color and complex aromas of dried apricots, caramel, honey, nuts, and spice.
"Capezzana is located in the historic Carmignano appellation, where wine has been produced since Etruscan times. The Contini Bonacossi family traces its winemaking lineage at the estate an astonishing 12 centuries. The property encompasses 670 hectares of which approximately 100 are under vine. The micro-climate is warm but evening breezes from the nearby Apennine mountains serve to temper the daytime heat." Antonio Galloni, June 2007
