1997 Muskat Ottonel Beerenauslese No 5 ZDS, Kracher (37.5cl Half Bottle)
"As always with Alois Kracher, he has labeled his wines either "Nouvelle Vague" or "Zwischen den Seen". The Nouvelle Vague (listed as NV) were vinified and aged in new oak barrels whereas the Zwischen den Seen (ZDS) were produced using the area's traditional, oak-less, methods. The 1997 Muskat Ottonel Beerenauslese Number 5 Zwischen den Seen displays superb orange blossom, candied kumquat, spice, and apricot aromas. This hugely complex, deep, and concentrated wine is crammed with red, yellow, and tropical fruits. Spices, flowers, and oranges are intermingled throughout this medium to full-bodied, decadent effort." Wine Advocate, October 2000
