Badia a Passignano, Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2018, 75cl
Badia a Passignano is one of Antinori’s most historic Chianti Classico estates, situated just south of Tenuta Tignanello around the ancient 10th century Abbey of Passignano. The vineyards lie at around 250–300 metres on predominantly limestone rich soils in an area with a winemaking history stretching back over a thousand years.
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is made exclusively from a selection of the estate’s finest Sangiovese, with individual vineyard parcels vinified separately and matured in Hungarian and French oak. Rich yet elegant, it combines ripe cherry and red fruit with aromatic herbs, liquorice and subtle spice, supported by fresh acidity and polished tannins. A refined, age-worthy expression of Sangiovese from one of Chianti Classico’s great estates.
