Produttori del Barbaresco is one of Piedmont’s great names and a benchmark for traditional Barbaresco. Founded in 1958, the cooperative brings together more than 50 growers, farming some of the finest Nebbiolo vineyards around the village of Barbaresco. Its philosophy remains resolutely traditional: long macerations and ageing in large oak casks, allowing the character of Nebbiolo and its vineyards to take centre stage.

The house style is classical, perfumed and savoury, combining Nebbiolo’s red fruit and floral character with firm tannins, freshness and notes of spice, earth and tar. The 2017 Barbaresco comes from a warm, dry vintage and is a particularly generous and approachable expression, showing ripe cherry and raspberry alongside rose, spice, liquorice and earthy complexity.  A superb partner for slow cooked beef or lamb, roast game, mushroom risotto and truffle dishes, as well as mature hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano. Its combination of acidity and tannin works particularly well with rich, savoury dishes.
