Cedric Bouchard Roses de Jeanne Les Ursules Blanc de Noirs 2011 Champagne 75cl
Cédric Bouchard has become one of Champagne's most revered artisan producers, crafting some of the region's most distinctive single-vineyard wines under his Roses de Jeanne label. Rejecting blending in favour of expressing one vineyard, one grape variety and one vintage, his Champagnes have become cult favourites among collectors. Les Ursules is the domaine's flagship cuvée, produced from a tiny 0.97-hectare parcel of old-vine Pinot Noir in the Côte des Bar. Bottled with minimal intervention and produced in minute quantities, it is a profound, terroir-driven Blanc de Noirs that perfectly captures Bouchard's philosophy of purity and precision.
"Fleshy and expressive, the 2011 Blanc de Noirs Les Ursules is drinking very well today, offering up aromas of orange oil, pear, peach and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, textural and succulent, it's a giving, attractively fruit-driven rendition of this cuvée, demonstrating what Bouchard can achieve even in a challenging year. Drink 2020-2030."
