Domaine Roulot, Meursault 1er Cru Porusot 2012, 75cl

One of the great names of Meursault, Domaine Roulot is today run by Jean-Marc Roulot and is renowned for beautifully precise, mineral Chardonnay and its pioneering approach to bottling individual vineyards separately.

Porusot is a well situated Premier Cru on the southern side of Meursault, close to the celebrated Genevrières and Charmes vineyards. It typically produces a relatively rich and powerful style of Meursault, with greater breadth and weight than many of the village's more delicate sites. In Roulot's hands, that natural generosity is balanced by the domaine's characteristic freshness and precision, producing a wine of impressive concentration, texture and mineral length, with citrus and orchard fruit, spice and a subtle nutty richness developing with age.

"Here too very strong reduction completely flattens the fruit. There is excellent volume, intensity, power and muscle to the full-on and frank medium weight plus flavors that possess both saline and citrus elements on the clean, bone dry and moderately austere finish.
