Lisini, Brunello di Montalcino 2016, 150cl Magnum (Gift Pack)

Lisini is one of Montalcino’s historic estates, producing traditionally styled Brunello from vineyards in the warmer southern part of the appellation. The wines are renowned for combining the power and ripeness of this part of Montalcino with freshness, elegance and impressive longevity.

The 2016 vintage is regarded as one of the great modern vintages for Brunello, producing beautifully balanced wines with both concentration and remarkable freshness. Lisini’s 2016 is classic Sangiovese, with ripe cherry and plum, dried flowers, herbs, tobacco and spice, underpinned by fine tannins and savoury freshness.  A superb match for roast lamb, bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar ragù or aged Pecorino.

"Dark and imposing in the glass, the 2016 Brunello di Montalcino opens with a delicate bouquet of balsam herbs and smoke, giving way to cedar spice box, dusty rose and dried black cherries. This is incredibly soft and pliant on the palate, with lavender-tinged, ripe red and black fruits guided by juicy acidity. Violet inner florals and a bitter tinge of balsamic spice linger as the 2016 finishes long and lightly structured, with edgy tannins that frame the experience without slowing its momentum.
