Domaine Chevillon-Chezeaux
Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, this fifth-generation family domaine traces its roots to 1887. Run today by Claire Chevillon and Philippe Chezeaux, the estate comprises nearly 9 hectares, including an impressive range of Nuits Premier Cru sites. Philippe works in a traditional, low-intervention style: 100% destemmed fruit, cold maceration, and ageing in modest new oak (20–25%). The aim is wines with finesse, elegance and purity of fruit that reflect their terroir. The wines are classic Nuits-Saint-Georges: structured yet refined, with vibrant fruit and fine, balanced tannins.
Les Bousselots 1er Cru - Situated just below Aux Thorey on the Vosne side of the appellation, this lesser known 1er Cru combines clay and limestone soils on a south-east facing mid-slope to produce wines with classic Nuits power, balanced by a touch of Vosne-like finesse, and a silky, complex palate.
Les Crots 1er Cru - Situated on a high hillside just above the town of Nuits Saint-Georges, above Les Proces and Les Pruliers, one of the few vineyards in the Cote d'Or where the vineyards are terraced due to the steepness of the slope. Deep in colour with rich dark fruit profile on the nose, then the full-bodied and focused with dense black fruit in the mouth and minerality at the core. There is lovely smoothness to the tannins and a touch of chocolate on the finish.
Les Saint Georges 1er Cru - Widely regarded as the unnoficial Grand Cru of Nuits Saint Georges, Les Saint Georges is the appellation’s benchmark site. The wines have great depth, structure and remarkable ageing potential, combining power with precision and an unmistakable sense of place.
