2023 Lucy Pico Blanco, Pisoni
A beautifully pure, elegant and approachable blend of Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc from the notorious Pisoni family. Pico Blanco is named to commemorate a mountain peak in Monterey County known for its beauty and its high-grade limestone mineral deposits. Grapes are hand-sorted and carefully pressed to moderate the extraction and flavor derived from their skins. Neutral barrels are used for fermentation to sustain the purity of the fruit and to augment its texture.
"Whole-cluster pressed and fermented with native yeasts in neutral barrels, this wine is sourced from vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands and Arroyo Seco. A burst of citrus fruit opens the nose, nuanced by flinty minerality and bright, salty sea spray. The medium-bodied palate builds with apple skin tannins providing a firm foundation for plump, juicy orchard fruit tinged with delicate white floral notes.
