2016 Croix de Beausejour, St Emilion

"The 2016 Croix de Beauséjour is a serious second wine endowed with quite a bit of structure that should allow it to age gracefully for 10-15 years. Smoke, scorched earth, tobacco, leather, licorice, spice and a whole host of dark flavors give the Croix its decidedly somber, brooding personality. The blend is approximately 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, with the Franc giving the wine its aromatic and structural signatures. I would not be surprised if the 2016 shows even better than this note suggests in a few years' time."  Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com
