Sommelier's Classics
A classic 6 bottle selection from some of the World's leading fine wine regions. Red Bordeaux, White Burgundy, Agentine Malbec, South African Chenin Blanc, a refreshing Sancerre and a charming Super Tuscan from the producers of Sassicaia.
2020 Malbec, El Enemigo – Full bodied Malbec from Mendoza with darky berry fruit, violets, lavender, coffee and vanilla. Sweet with smooth silky tannins and a vibrant acidity.
2021 Le Difese, Tenuta San Guido – Beautifully balanced Super Tuscan from the producers of Sassicaia. Packed with red cherry fruit, sweet spice and grilled Mediterranean herbs (70% Cab Sav, 30% Sangiovese).
2016 Jean-Pierre Moueix Medoc Rouge – A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc with complex cassis, rich dark fruit, liquorice and spice. Classic claret from a top Bordeaux vintage.
2021 Chablis Coteaux de Fontenay, Domaine Roy – Fruity but with the minerality and stony character typical of Chablis and with a focused finish. Easy to pair with food, it is lively with plenty of zesty citrus freshness and very enjoyable.
2023 Sancerre La Vendangette, Domaine La Croix Canat – A classic Sancerre from one of the leading estates of the Loire Valley. An array of citrus, lemon & grapefruit zest complemented by fresh herbiness, stones, flint & white flowers. Refreshing & sophisticated.
2023 Kloof Street Old Vines Chenin Blanc, Mullineux – Excellent Chenin Blanc from one of South Africa’s most exciting producers. Pale straw in colour, this wine has a nose of sun ripened pears and wet granite. The palate has a vibrant acidity balanced by a soft, round texture and some pithy character.
