2010 Sancerre Rouge Les Marnes, Domaine Vacheron

"From a rocky chalk site halfway between Sancerre and Bue – and tasted from cask – the 2010 Sancerre rouge Les Marnes intriguingly and alluringly mingles red currant and blood orange both on the nose and on a bright, luscious palate threaded with a faintly rough but not obtrusive ridge of tannin. Underlying suggestions of rich beef stock and marrow along with a striking saline savor that clings to this Pinot’s sappy fruit essence make for a finish that set me to salivating almost unstoppably."  The Wine Advocate, June 2012
