2009 Doisy Vedrines, Sauternes (half bottle)
The ever-popular Chateau Doisy Vedrines is situated near Climens and Coutet in Barsac. The misty mornings and sunny afternoons provide the ideal conditions for Botrytis cinerea (noble rot) to take hold and shrivel the grapes into the delicioulsy sweet raisins used to make Sauternes.
"The 2009 Doisy-Védrines has a gorgeous bouquet with passion fruit, quince, beeswax and light figgy aromas that are well defined and gain intensity with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that cuts through the pure botrytised fruit and leads to a gorgeous viscous finish. Olivier Castèja made a fabulous Barsac this year. Drink 2020-2055." Neal Martin, Vinous.com
