Corton le Rognet Grand Cru, Bruno Clavelier 2006-2008
A rare opportunity to taste 3 vintages of Corton le Rognet Grand Cru from Bruno Clavelier side by side.
2006 Corton le Rognet Grand Cru - "A surprisingly expressive nose of red and black fruit with a background nuance of spiced plum slides into textured, seductive and slightly smoky flavors that culminate in a focused, powerful and mouth coating finish. This is not as precise or a mineral-driven as the Cras but there is more depth and length plus slightly better underlying material. This should age effortlessly. Drink 2014+" Allen Meadows, Burghound
2007 Corton le Rognet Grand Cru - "Discreet wood spice notes frame elegant, expressive and ripe red and blue pinot fruit aromas nuanced by hints of underbrush and earth that continue onto supple, stylish and pure big-bodied flavors that retain a finely balanced sense between power and finesse, all wrapped in a marvelously deep finish that really stains the palate. There is an unexpected generosity here given the focus and linearity of the finish yet the mid-palate concentration is such that it completely buffers the relatively fine tannins and confers a velvety character to the mouth feel. Drink 2015+" Allen Meadows, Burghound
