Barton Family Collection
A great value tasting case from the Barton family showcasing their 3 Medoc estates. The Barton family have long and deservedly been associated with consistently excellent Classed Growth Saint Julien at relatively modest prices.
2012 Leoville Barton, St Julien 2nd Growth - "...blackberry and raspberry, cedar and mint, almost Pauillac in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, quite feisty and vibrant with good concentration on the finish. This is quite a serious Saint-Julien, and it has the substance to age well in bottle. Excellent. Drink 2023-2040." Neal Martin, Vinous.com
2015 Langoa Barton, St Julien 3rd Growth - "What a nice surprise the 2015 Langoa-Barton is. Racy, silky and forward, the 2015 will drink well with minimal cellaring. Succulent red cherry and pomegranate fruit are nicely lifted by floral and spice notes that add aromatic intensity and layers of flavor. Silky tannins add to the wine's considerable immediacy and sheer appeal. Drink 2020-2035." Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com
2014 Mauvesin Barton, Moulis en Medoc - "The 2014 Mauvesin-Barton has an open and generous, very pure, almost Côte de Beaune-like bouquet with red cherries, wild strawberry and light rose petal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, brisk and breezy, not a deep or grippy Left Bank wine but balanced and fresh, the oak judiciously used towards the easy-going but satisfying finish. Fine. Drink 2019-2028." Neal Martin, Vinous.com
