2002 Vin Jaune Arbois, Domaine de la Tournelle (50cl)

Vin Jaune, or "yellow wine," is a distinctive style from France's Jura region, notably produced by Domaine de la Tournelle in Arbois. Crafted exclusively from the Savagnin grape, this wine undergoes an extended aging process of nearly seven years under a natural veil of yeast, known as "sous voile," without topping up the barrels. This method imparts complex flavors of nuts, dried fruits, and spices, characteristic of oxidative aging.  Domaine de la Tournelle is renowned for its commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture. Their philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing their wines to authentically reflect the Jura terroir.  2002 was a particularly strong vintage for Domaine de la Tournelle.
