2001 Quinta Vale D. Maria, Vintage Port

"Intense, with smoldering charcoal nuances and a serious graphite edge framing the core of dense fig, blackberry and black currant confiture notes. Lots of brambly grip drives the finish, but this remains remarkably well-integrated, with singed anise and apple wood hints starting to emerge.
