Labruyere Prologue Extra Brut NV

From 100% Grand Cru vineyards in Verzenay.  The Labruyere family who also own vineyards in Burgundy, Beaujolais and Bordeaux, with the focus on the highest quality.  This is a Extra Brut, a dry “terroir-driven” grower Champagne, where they aim to showcase the natural ripeness of the grapes with extended ageing on the lees (5 years! rather than the usual 12 months).  Dosage 0.8g/l.

"Brioche pastries with subtle cooked apples, lemons, plums and salted almonds. Creamy and mellow bubbles with yeasty flavors and cooked apples on the pristine palate. Disgorged on 01/12/2021. Dosage of 1.6g/L. 69% pinot noir and 31% chardonnay."  James Suckling
